Plymouth County Extension Office will offer the Commercial Ag Weed, Insect and Plant Disease Management Continuing Instructional Course (CIC) for commercial pesticide applicators Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009. The prerecorded program will be shown at locations across Iowa through the Iowa State University Extension Pest Management and the Environment (PME) program.

The local site for the Nov. 18 CIC is the Plymouth County Extension Office at 24 1st St N.W. in Le Mars.  Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., and the course runs from 9 to 11:45 a.m. The registration fee is $35 on or before Nov. 11 and $45 after Nov. 11. The 2009 course will provide continuing instructional credit for commercial pesticide applicators certified in categories 1A, 1B, 1C and 10. Topics to be covered include equipment calibration, safe application techniques and drift; pesticide labels; pesticide stewardship topics; pests and pest management.
Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) Continuing Education Units (CEUs) also will be offered this year. Interested participants should bring their CCA number to the program.
