Come learn how to make your dollar stretch at  the grocery store. Take a late lunch on Jan 30, 2015 and joins us from 1 to 2pm at Willow Ridge Activity Room for Spend Smart Eat Smart. There is no cost to attend this class!!

Palo Alto, Pocahontas, and Calhoun County Extension and Outreach offices will be holding a Tractor and Machine Safety course for all 14 and 15 years on MArch 6, 7, 20 and 21. Attendance at all four days are mandatory. Class is limited to 25 so register early. This is a course that is required by law if your son or daughter will be working off the family farm. For more information please call Palo Alto County Extension Office at 712-852-2865.

4-Hers in grades 6-8 are encouraged to attend the Quad County Intermediate Trip to Des Moines on Saturday, January 31, 2015.  Plans are to take a charter bus to Des Moines where participants will pack meals for Meals from the Heartland, watch a hockey game, and stop at Fort Frenzy in Fort Dodge on the way home.  Space is limited!

This is an event where youth will learn more about beef production in Iowa, how to get the best product for their effort, and ways to increase the quality of their cattle for fair exhibits.  The event will be held at the Iowa Lakes Community Campus in Emmetsburg and is open to all youth in grades 4-12.  Cost is $5 per participant with lunch included.  Deadline for registering is January 16th.
