White Poplar - Populus alba

Leaves are alternate, simple, with lobed and pointed tips.

Native to Europe and western Asia along rivers and in bottomlands.  Medium-sized to large tree.  Trunk is crooked, often forked, forming a large  spreading, irregular crown.

The leaves are three to five lobes, long and almost as long as broad.  Leaf underside and twigs are hairy and white.  Branches are cream or white  colored.
