Help!

Most tree species have an alternate leaf arrangement on the stem. That is to say the leaves are attached to the stem in a stager or spiral - - not directly across from each other.

Some trees have an opposite leaf arrangement - - leaves occur directly across from one another on the stem. Trees with opposite leaf arrangements also have opposite branch arrangements, if both branches develop.
