Science of Parenting: How to Discipline Children

AMES, Iowa — Should parents spank their children? Family life specialists Donna Donald and Lori Hayungs talk about spanking and other ways to discipline children in the Science of Parenting blog from Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.

“To spank or not to spank — there are advocates and research to support both viewpoints,” Donald said. “In January we’re blogging about corporal, or physical, punishment, as well as alternative methods of discipline and what the research says is effective.”
