Page County will host a Pest Control Operators Continuing Instructional Course (CIC) for commercial pesticide applicators Wednesday, December 3, 2008. The satellite program will be shown at locations throughout Iowa and is sponsored by Iowa State University Extension’s Pest Management and the Environment Program (PME).
The local site for the December 3 CIC is the Page County Extension office. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. followed by sessions from 9 to 11:30 a.m. The registration fee is $60 on or before November 26 and $70 after November 26. The 2008 course will provide continuing instructional credit for commercial pesticide applicators certified in categories 7A, 7B, 8 and 10. The course will cover topics such as limiting pesticide exposure in sensitive accounts; pests and pest management; pesticides and pesticide labels; laws and regulations; and questions from participants.
