Page County Beef Weigh-in will be Tuesday, December 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring birthdates if your calves are home-raised. We need these at weigh-in time.
To make the process quicker, we are requesting that 4-H members who only want to have their calves tagged and weighed come from 10 to 11:30 a.m. If a 4-Her wants to nominate a calf for State Fair or Ak-Sar-Ben, please come from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. No calves will be nominated for State Fair or Ak-Sar-Ben before 11:30 a.m.
Market beef nominated for the State Fair or Ak-Sar-Ben will have a DNA sample taken and a retinal image. The DNA sample will be used for Ak-Sar-Ben. If a youth nominates a market steer for the Iowa State Fair or Ak-Sar-Ben, it will cost $5 per head. If you nominate for both it will be $6 per head.
