Building Relationships with Children Who Challenge Us Set for May 16

Building Relationships with Children and Youth Who Challenge Us is a two-hour workshop for child care providers, parents, and others who work with young children. Page County Extension is sponsoring the program on May 16 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Bricker Room in Shenandoah. The Bricker Room is in the Safety Center at 400 W. Sheridan Ave. Sandra McKinnon, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Family Life Program Specialist, will be the presenter. According to McKinnon, “Some children are more difficult to work with than others. This workshop will give child care providers ideas to make the day go smoother for them and the children.”

During the program, participants will examine their own temperaments, understand underlying problems when there is not a good fit, recognize strengths in children’s temperaments, and learn ways to meet each child’s needs.  Building Relationships with Children and Youth Who Challenge Us costs $10, and certificates of attendance will be given to participants needing continuing instruction credits. To pre-register, call the Page County Extension office at 712-542-5171 or toll free at 877-596-7243
