I'm afraid I've messed up! I planted three vines (2 seedless Concord and 1 seedless Canadice) last Spring on a four-cane Kniffin system. During the late Summer and early Fall, I pruned growth away from the bottom wire believing that wire was only needed to support the vine until it grew to the top wire. Also, I pruned believing that what I removed was otherwise mis-directing water and nutrients from what would support more vegetation during the second year. Should I (and can I) re-establish the growth to the bottom wire?
