     1.  Master Gardeners are trained volunteers who share a love of gardening, an enthusiasm for learning,
     and a commitment to helping others. Core training consists of 40 hours of horticulture education. Topics
     include soil basics, lawn care, flower and vegetable gardening, ornamental trees and shrubs, fruit
     crops, houseplants, weed and pest control.

The Department of 4-H Youth Development with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Field Specialist – 4-H Youth Development within the Field Team West. This position is part of the field team west and will serve northwest Iowa in Cherokee, Lyon, O’Brien, Osceola, Plymouth, and Sioux Counties with a base office location to be negotiable within the counties served. The Department of 4-H Youth Development with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Field Specialist III– East Field Team Lead. The 4-H Youth Development Field Specialist  provides leadership and develop the capacity of youth, volunteers, and professionals to plan, implement, and evaluate a series of progressive educational programs and learning experiences that work toward achieving the outcomes of effective leadership, productive citizenship, outstanding communication, and successful learning. These outcomes are reached through the Iowa 4-H program priorities of healthy living,STEM, citizenship and leadership, and communication and the arts.

  • Production and business management information for commercial producers on wide variety of fruits and vegetables.

  •  Information on lawn, garden, and landscape plant questions is available from ISU Extension staff.
