The Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Dairy Team will conduct a series of workshops starting Nov. 17 in the Campus Center Board Room at Dordt College in Sioux Center, IA. The series, Dairy Start to Farm, is for beginning and early-career dairy farmers looking for an edge in managing and growing their dairy business.

Voters will have the opportunity to elect five members of the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Osceola County Council at the Nov. 8 general election. ISU Extension and Outreach educational programming is a cooperative effort involving local citizens, Iowa State University and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Each year Iowa State University recognizes the excellence of faculty and staff accomplishments through university awards. Cheryl Heronemus, regional extension education director for counties in northwest Iowa, was honored with the 2015 R.K. Bliss Award. The award, named for the director of extension from 1912 to 1946, recognizes outstanding achievement of an Iowa State University Extension and Outreach staff member for developing an overall or continuing extension education program.
