Get the tools, skills, and strategies to build stronger families in seven sessions! The SFP 10-14 is a free, fun, and effective programdesigned to assist parents in preparing their 6th graders for a positive experience in the teen years. Sundays, October 4 - November 15, Crosswalk Teen Center 1305 23rd St. Hawarden, Iowa. Snacks and games 2 - 2:30 p.m. Sessions and childcare 2:30 - 4:30 p.m.

West Sioux Strengthening Families for Parents and Youth:  10-14 facilitators

HAWARDEN – All families have strengths. Recently, Mark Aldeman, Barbara Ann Derby, Stacy Kramer, Tiffany Millikan and Tina Vandeslunt attended a Strengthening Families Program: For Parents and Youth 10-14 (SFP 10-14) facilitator training June 15- 18 in Storm Lake at the Buena Vista College campus. All are educators in the area.

1.  Master Gardeners are trained volunteers who share a love of gardening, an enthusiasm for learning, and a commitment to helping others. Core training consists of 40 hours of horticulture education. Topics include soil basics, lawn care, flower and vegetable gardening, ornamental trees and shrubs, fruit crops, houseplants, weed and pest control.
