In general, all reasonable accommodations will be made. Two week's advance notice is required. Costs will be the same to the client (a free publication will be free in any alternative format; a cost publication will cost what the paper version costs).
On request, large print versions will be provided for those publications where this is appropriate. These may be kept by the client.
On request, an audio cassette recording will be provided for those publications where this is appropriate. These may be kept by the client.
Additional alternative formats (Braille, voiced computer file, etc.) may be provided if large print and audio tape are not appropriate for an individual. More lead time may be required. These formats may be made available on a check-out, loan basis or a "come into an office to use" basis, depending on equipment needs.
In general, all reasonable accommodations will be made. Two weeks advance notice is required. Costs will be the same to the client (a free program will be free in any alternative format; a fee program will cost the same for an ADA participant and for other participants). The following will go into effect July 1, 1995.
All pretaped programs will be closed captioned.
All live satellite programs will have on-line closed captioning. The Answer Line TDD number will be broadcast along with the standard call-in number.
Campus will provide the above products. Counties need to have available the television receivers or decoders that can display closed captioning. Counties are encouraged to ask about this need on all registration materials for programs that involve videos/satellite so they can turn on the decoding feature when needed.
The availability of the above services will be promoted routinely so that Iowans with disabilities and their friends and families are aware of them.
Policy accepted by Extension Administration (4/11/95).
