(Revised June 2007) Section 3.A
It is desirable for Extension to be part of the marketing image of Iowa State University to stress the three functions of a land-grant university--teaching, research, and outreach/extension. Materials given to clients should contain the ISU wordmark in the color, size, and placement determined by ISU Extension Communication Systems and University Relations.
The wordmark policy allows individual unit identity within ISU Extension while integrating the ISU wordmark in materials released to the public. The Extension wordmarks that have been developed for use with publishing software, such as Microsoft Word and Adobe are available via "software & templates downloads" on the ISU Extension For Staff website at the following address: http://www.extension.iastate.edu/Pages/communications/Wordmarksite/.

ISU Extension is no longer using the Cooperative Extension Wordmark. Do not use previous logos, either. Do not put these logos on new materials. Destroy stationery and marketing materials that feature old logos.
No publications are to be reprinted or discarded simply because they carry the wrong logo. It will take several years to convert publications to the new wordmark. This will be done as they are revised or reprinted.

Extension stationery (letterhead, enclosures, etc.) should have the visual identity wordmark and statement shown below. Stationery orders can be placed with Extension Communication Systems. Staff can order either a camera-ready master or a supply. Call Printing Service, (515) 294-3601, for more information on stationery and business cards.
Letterhead used by county directors and field specialists should use the following wordmark and the 'cooperating' and 'available to all' statement at the bottom of the page.
