(Click image left for brochure) - Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach is sponsoring "Powerful Tools for Caregivers" at the ISU Extension and Outreach O’Brien County conference room
Monday evenings starting March 17 to April 21 from 6 to 8:45 p.m. the O’Brien County extension office is located at 340 2nd St. SE in Primghar.
Powerful Tools for Caregivers is an educational series designed to provide tools you need to take care of yourself. If you take good care of yourself, you will be better prepared to take good care of your loved one. As a participant you will learn how to: reduce stress, improve self-confidence, better communicate your feelings, balance your life, increase ability to make tough decisions and locate helpful resources. Classes consist of six, two and a half hour sessions held once a week. Two experienced leaders conduct each class. Interactive lessons, discussions and brainstorming help you take the “tools” you choose and put them into action for your life. See the National Powerful Tools for Caregivers website at www.powerfultoolsforcaregivers.org.
There is a $25 fee for the program with scholarships available. For more information or to register, contact Mackenzie Johnson, family life program assistant at email@example.com, or call the O’Brien County Extension and Outreach office at 712-957-5045.
This program is supported locally by Baum Harmon Mercy Hospital, O’Brien County Veterans Affairs, ISU Extension and Outreach O’Brien County Council, and Gentiva/Iowa Hospice by Harden Healthcare.
