More than half of Iowa farmland is rented.  In some Iowa locations, as much as 70 percent of the land is farmed by farmers who don’t own the land. Northwest Iowa farmland values continue to stay strong, and so have farmland cash rental rates. Informational Workshops Offered Across Northwest Iowa from July 28 through August 1.

The Iowa Master Gardener program and Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach are once again offering a series of summer garden webinars for the general public. Trees are one of the most valuable components of home landscapes. Because weather patterns over the past couple of years have taken a toll on landscape trees, and because the Emerald Ash Borer is advancing across the state, the theme for the 2014 summer webinars is “Totally Trees”.
