Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach will host a Harvest Dinner featuring local foods and local producers on Thursday, Oct. 20, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Willow Creek County Park and Recreation Area (5945 HWY 9, Ocheyedan, IA). The evening will feature the following local producers:  GoodEetens Produce Farm, Seven Wilson Farm, Boernsen Bees and Calico Skies Vineyard and Winery. Now is the time of year for youth to join and participate in 4-H, the youth development program of Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach. All 99 counties throughout Iowa will be celebrating National 4-H Week Oct. 2-8. 4-H is active in each of Iowa’s 99 counties and empowers youth to reach their full potential.

Families with land in 13 northern Iowa counties shared their family stories at the Iowa Land Grant Legacy celebration at the Clay County Fair Sept. 16. These families are the first in Iowa to know of their connection to Iowa’s Land Grant Legacy – a project initiated by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. Over the summer, ISU Extension and Outreach visited the families to inform them of a special connection they have to Iowa's land grant university, and introduce them to the project.

Early Childhood Professionals are invited to join us for any or all of our online training sessions taking place from September through May. Classes are interactive and fun! Explore important topics that help you provide great care to the children in your center or home! Each training session is suitable for all training levels and provides each participant with 1.5 hours of continuing education for DHS. Please note - Online trainings do count as group setting credit because of the high level of group interactions.
