Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach invites area resident to attend a free lunch and learn on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the Primghar Golf and Country Club. The lunch and learn entitled Writing Your Retirement Paycheck is ideal for those looking to retire within the next 10 years. Writing Your Retirement Paycheckis designed to provide those approaching retirement with the information they need to be prepared to “write their own paycheck.” The workshop outlines key factors to consider prior to retirement and describes strategies for structuring retirement income.

Each year Iowa State University recognizes the excellence of faculty and staff accomplishments through university awards. Cheryl Heronemus, regional extension education director for counties in northwest Iowa, was honored with the 2015 R.K. Bliss Award. The award, named for the director of extension from 1912 to 1946, recognizes outstanding achievement of an Iowa State University Extension and Outreach staff member for developing an overall or continuing extension education program.
