Second Farmland Drainage Workshop to Be Held Jan. 30

An ISU Extension and Outreach workshop will examine various aspects of farmland drainage on Jan. 30 at Big Ed’s Firehouse in New Hampton. The program that begins 9 a.m. and adjourns at 3:30 p.m. has been scheduled due to an overwhelming interest in a December workshop.

Plan to Attend the Great Plains Growers Conference

The Great Plains Growers Conference will be held Jan. 5-7, 2012, at the Fulkerson Conference Center on the Missouri Western State University Campus. The conference and tradeshow is a collaborative effort of growers associations and extension services from Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and South Dakota, and each year draws hundreds of producers from the region and beyond.
Central Iowa Expo Announces a Major Gift from Monsanto

Farmland Value Reaches Historic $6,708 Statewide Average

Average Iowa farmland value is estimated to be $6,708 per acre, an increase of 32.5 percent from 2010, according to results of the Iowa Land Value Survey conducted in November. This is the highest percentage increase ever recorded by the Iowa State University annual survey.
