Farmers and the public are invited to listen to Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach specialists present timely research and crop production information at the upcoming ISU Northwest Research and Demonstration Farm Field Day on Wednesday, July 13, near Sutherland, Iowa.

The Northwest Iowa Beginning Young Livestock Farmer Group has planned another great educational experience at the Northwest Iowa Research Farm in Sutherland on Thursday, July 7, 2016, starting at 2:00 p.m. The meeting will feature a tour and drone demonstration of the research farm, FINPACK training, and mini educational sessions with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Specialists Beth Doran, Dave Stender, and Ryan Breuer.

Each three-hour workshop will cover updated land value and cash rental rate surveys, types of farmland lease arrangements, how to determine fair fixed and flexible cash rents, family and landlord-tenant communication, and more. The Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Master Gardener program is hosting a summer webinar series. Attendees will discover the benefits of shade in landscaping, indicators of tree problems, and ways to identify and support native garden insects. The two-hour webinars are scheduled at the Sibley Public Library, 406 9th Street, Sibley, IA 51249.
