Case Field #4, 2002

Please view pictures and give me your comments, suggestions

West-Central Carroll County
Crop - Soybean
V-Stage - 3
Previous Crop - Corn
Previous Yr Herbicides:  Balance Pro + Atrazine  fb  Basis Gold + Clarity
Tillage - spring disc
Treflan (1/2 rate) Herbicide applied this spring
Broadcast hog manure (rate unknown) applied just prior to planting
The affected area covers 6 acres of a 20 acre field.
The symptomology is present only where manure was applied

Symptomology
Plants are stunted, have extensive leaf chlorosis and in the most severe plants, appear to be near death.  New leaves are developing in 75% of the plants but they are small and still show chlorosis. The root system looks very good.  We did notice that the stems are very brittle and easily snap when touched.

The field was replanted last night.  We are unsure whether the new seeding will show the same problems, but we figured there was nothing to lose.
