Integrated Crop Management Conference Features Ethanol Information Plus Variety of Workshops
AMES, Iowa - The 16th Annual Integrated Crop Management Conference (ICM) will be held Dec. 1-2 at the Iowa State Center on the Iowa State University (ISU) Campus in Ames. Registration begins at 9 a.m. on Dec. 1 in Stephens Auditorium and the conference concludes at 4 p.m. on Dec. 2.
The ICM Conference has something to offer everyone involved in crop production and protection in Iowa and the surrounding states. Learn about Iowa's expanding ethanol industry and the impact that will have on grain marketing and agronomics, participate in 35 different workshops featuring the latest crop production information from experts from around the Midwest, and receive pesticide applicator recertification credits and receive Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) credits.
Attendees can choose from as many as seven topics each hour. This flexibility allows attendees to customize their conference experience to meet specific interests and CCA credit needs.
For CCAs, the ICM Conference is an excellent opportunity to obtain additional continuing education credits before year's end. CCAs can obtain up to 11 credits. The following credits have been approved: Crop Management - 10, Pest Management - 13, Nutrient Management - 5, Soil and Water Management - 8. This conference has also been approved as continuing education for Iowa Certified Commercial Pesticide Applicators in categories 1A, 1B, 1C and 10.
To register online for this event or for more information, visit the Agribusiness Education Program Website at http://www.aep.iastate.edu. The fee for this conference is $175. After Nov. 19, registration increases to $225. Enrollment is limited and no registrations will be accepted at the door. Registrations are accepted on a first-come, fees-paid basis. Be sure to register early to guarantee your spot at this event.
The conference is hosted by ISU Extension, the College of Agriculture and the departments of Agronomy, Entomology, Plant Pathology and Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering.
