Updated Perks at the Iowa 4-H Center Camps

MADRID, Iowa -- Campers attending this year's summer camps at the Iowa 4-H Center will find more comfortable conditions due to additions in cabins and the overall camp.

Most renovations have been made to Birch Village, those cabins most used during the summer. Besides window air-conditioners, cabins received carpet, new paint and new mattresses.

"More campers and parents are specifically requesting air-conditioned cabins for their summer camp experience. This added comfort was made possible through a donation by an Iowa 4-H Foundation member. Now our campers and staff will get a more restful night's sleep after an active day at camp," Traci Stephens, Iowa 4-H Center program specialist, said.

Campers at the 4-H Center also look forward to ice cream bars sold in the camp store, seven new low-rope team challenge elements to try and great camp food served by Minnie's Garden Grilling, a catering company out of Ogden, Ia. that will be running the camp kitchen.
