Tree Steward Conference Offered

AMES, Iowa - On June 25, Iowa State University (ISU) Extension is offering a one-day Tree Steward Conference to anyone interested in learning more about trees and tree care.

The program starts with "In Defense of Insects," by Donald Lewis, professor of entomology, ISU. Participants will attend five workshops from a field of fourteen workshops. The sessions include; tree identification, invasive species, the role of insects, landscape planning, disease identification, healthy gardening and risk tree management. The program runs from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The $25 per person registration fee also includes lunch. This program is sponsored by the Iowa Urban and Community Forestry Council, ISU Extension, Iowa Department of Natural Resources and Trees Forever.
