____(Name)____ Takes Part In City Clerk Continuing Education
___(Name)___, ___(Town)___, attended a continuing education program in city management recently at Iowa State University. The three-day Municipal Clerks Academy was conducted by ISU Extension July 21-23 in Ames.
Advanced topics offered in this session included adapting to change, managing municipal utilities, grant writing, best practices for managing city government and the Iowa Public Employees Retirement System.
The program is sponsored by the ISU Extension Office of State and Local Government Programs in conjunction with the Iowa Municipal Finance Officers Association. Instructors include ISU faculty, extension staff, utilities specialists, state agency personnel and professional presenters. By attending the academy, city officials increase their knowledge and skills to better serve the citizens of their communities and gain educational credit toward maintaining their professional certification.
