33rd Annual Cow-Calf Conference to Feature Comprehensive Agenda
AMES, Iowa -Timely market outlooks, new management techniques and humane livestock handling practices will be part of a broad agenda at the 33rd Annual Cornbelt Cow-Calf Conference on Feb. 28, 2004. Cow-calf producers and industry personnel are invited to attend the conference at the Coliseum in Ottumwa, Iowa, which will also feature a special salute to Iowa State University's "100 Years of Extension" celebration.
" This year's conference is especially important as southern Iowa and northern Missouri are poised to take a prominent place in the nation's beef industry, and as all producers cautiously watch the BSE event in Washington State," says Byron Leu, ISU Extension livestock specialist. "Producers, researchers, policy makers and industry associates can come together at this time to learn and share ideas that will assist in enhancing the profitability and safety of our industry."
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and concludes at 3:45 p.m. A registration fee of $6 includes lunch and a copy of conference proceedings. For more information, contact Wapello County Extension at (641) 682-5491 or Byron Leu at (641) 472-4166.
The Cornbelt Cow-Calf Conference, an annual one-day convention, focuses on management and production practices that apply to the cow-calf industry.
