ISU Farm Business Experts Offer Seminars

AMES, Iowa - Two seminars for professionals who serve the owners and operators of Iowa's farm businesses will be offered in Ames in early September. Both will be conducted by Neil E. Harl, distinguished professor emeritus of agricultural law, agricultural finance and resource economics; and his replacement, Roger A. McEowen, associate professor of agricultural law and policy in the Department of Agricultural Education and Studies at ISU.

The Farm Estate and Business Planning Seminar is set for Tuesday, Sept. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Quality Inn & Suites, 2601 E. 13th Street, Ames. This seminar is geared toward attorneys and CPAs and provides seven hours of continuing education credit. The seminar is designed to focus attention on practical problems arising among farm firms. The Iowa Real Estate and Insurance Seminar will be offered from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 9, at the Quality Inn & Suites, 2601 E. 13th St., Ames. It is approved for six continuing education hours in both real estate and insurance. The fee is $85.
