Preliminary 2003 Corn and Soybean Performance Test Results Available

AMES, Iowa - To give farmers more research-based information to make decisions for the 2004 crop year, preliminary results of the 2003 Iowa Crop Performance Test for corn and soybeans are now available on the Web. The information is on the Iowa Crop Improvement Association (ICIA) Web site at: http://www.agron.iastate.edu/icia/.

New this year is a list of the top 25 yielding corn hybrids for each district in Iowa. A complete report of this year's performance tests will be available on the Web in three to four weeks.

The preliminary report of soybean results is also available. This information is subject to change in the published report that will be available around Dec. 1.

ICIA conducts the Iowa Crop Performance Tests in cooperation with the Iowa Agriculture and Home Economics Experiment Station at Iowa State University and ISU Extension. The program offers unbiased, third-party information to Iowa growers of commercial seed. ICIA provides performance information on hybrids and varieties for alfalfa, barley, corn, oat, soybean, triticale and wheat.
