6/5/03 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contacts: New Coordinator Takes Over ISU Agribusiness Education Program Ames, Iowa -- Brent Pringnitz, extension program specialist, Agronomy, has been named the new coordinator for the Iowa State University (ISU) Extension Agribusiness Education Program (AEP). Pringnitz will be responsible for revitalizing AEP, an outreach education endeavor of the Agronomy, Ag and Biosystems Engineering, Entomology and Plant Pathology departments. The AEP coordinates ISU Extension programs targeted for agribusiness professionals such as seed, fertilizer and pesticide dealers, crop consultants, agronomists and farm managers. Agribusiness Education Program activities include the Integrated Crop Management Conference, Ag Chemical Dealer Updates and various short courses. The AEP also coordinates diagnostic clinics at the Field Extension Education Laboratory, a 25-acre hands-on teaching and demonstration facility. "The Agribusiness Education Program is a vital part of crop production and protection education at ISU," said Pringnitz. "AEP serves as a vital link to our agribusiness clients across the state, providing continuing education opportunities and keeping them informed of the latest technology and research from ISU. I'm looking forward to expanding the program and offering new and innovative educational opportunities to our clients."
