Corn Co-Products in Sheep Rations
The next ICN Winter Sheep Series ICN is scheduled for Jan. 6 and will focus on "Utilizing Corn Processing Co-Products in Sheep Rations." Presenters will be Dan Loy, ISU Extension feedlot specialist, and Dan Morrical, ISU Extension sheep specialist. Corn processing co-products are becoming more widely available in the state. These alternative feeds are good sources of both protein and energy and may be very economically priced.
The last half of the session will be the Iowa Sheep Industry Annual Meeting.
ICN Winter Sheep Series is co-sponsored by the Iowa Sheep and Wool Promotion Board. Cost is $5 per person and advance registration is not required. Sites hosting ICN sessions around the state are listed below. For additional information contact Dan Morrical (515) 294-0847 or your ISU Extension county office. More than 150 producers attended the first session held on Dec. 2.
