9/6/02 Contacts: Story County 4-H Supporter Honored AMES, Iowa -- Chuck Morris, Ames, received a State 4-H Alumni Award Aug. 24 in Ames. The award honors former 4-H members for their service to 4-H, community leadership, public service and success in their careers. Morris, associate director of 4-H youth programs at Iowa State University, joined 4-H as a 10-year-old growing up in Dallas County. He began his career with ISU extension 27 years ago, serving as the extension 4-H youth leader in Clay and Buena Vista counties. He joined the state 4-H staff in 1978. Today Morris leads the 4-H youth development program planning process, interprets state 4-H youth policies and manages the department budget. He also leads volunteer development and curriculum efforts. Morris served as a state coordinator and advisor to the management team for the 2001 North Central Regional Volunteer Forum in Des Moines. Iowa 4-H program have helped enrich the lives of thousands of Iowans,"
Florine Swanson, executive director of the Iowa 4-H Foundation, said.
"Chuck is a deserving recipient of this award, one of the highest
