10/4/02 Contacts: ISU Extension Staff To Discuss Biotechnology Issues At Workshop AMES, Iowa -- Iowa State University Extension staff members will have the chance to enhance their knowledge of biotechnology at a workshop next month. Employees from all areas of ISU Extension -- agriculture, families, communities and 4-H -- are invited to attend the Extension Biotechnology Workshop Nov. 6 to 8 in Ames. The event, offered by the ISU Office of Biotechnology and Extension-Science, Engineering, and Technology (E-SET), will be held at the Biotechnology Outreach Education Center on the ISU campus. It will address consumer and producer issues, agriculture sustainability, ethics, genetically modified testing and current research issues. ISU staff will lead the workshop sessions, which include stem cell research, DNA fingerprinting and consumer issues with biotechnology.
