10/2/02 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contacts: 2002 Central Region Woodland Stewardship Conference The fifth annual Central Region Woodland Stewardship Conference will be held Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002 at the National Arbor Day Foundation Lied Conference Center in Nebraska City, Neb. Sponsored by state and extension forestry organizations in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska, the conference provides landowners in the four-state area with the knowledge and skills to manage their woodland and related resources using good stewardship principles. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the conference adjourns at 4 p.m. The conference offers concurrent one-hour presentations on the following four topics: Wildlife Woodland Management Working Trees Tree Health Care Due to the popularity of the pre-conference tours last year, three optional tours will be held from 4-5:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1. There is no additional cost for these tours:
Registration is $30 per person if paid by October 26 and $35 per person if paid after that date. The registration fee covers lunch, refreshments and handout materials. Conference enrollment is limited to 250, so register early to insure your attendance.
