Winter Sheep ICN Program Offers Youth Program Information

AMES, Iowa -- Iowa sheep producers are invited to attend the third of four sheep programs delivered via the Iowa Communications Network (ICN) on Monday, Dec. 16, from 7 to 9:30 p.m.

This program is designed for youth project participants and their families. Selecting and evaluating market lambs will be covered by Joel Morrical, graduate student shepherd at the Iowa State University (ISU) Sheep Teaching Farm. Denise Schwab, 4-H youth development specialist, will talk about the new identification requirements for Iowa State Fair 4-H youth sheep show and ethics. Management and feeding of market lambs will be discussed by Dan Morrical, ISU sheep extension specialist. This program is sponsored by the Iowa Sheep and Wool Promotion Board and ISU Extension.

Advance registration is not required but there is a $5 fee per person. Many ICN locations have changed this year, so attendees need to contact their local ISU Extension county office for the closest participating ICN site location and street address.
