Winter Sheep ICN Program Offers Marketing Information

AMES, Iowa -- Iowa sheep producers are invited to attend the second of four sheep programs delivered via the Iowa Communications Network (ICN) on Monday, Dec. 2, from 7 to 9:30 p.m.

The program's featured presenter is Mike Caskey, Hampshire sheep breeder and sheep production instructor from Minnesota West Community and Technical College in Pipestone, Minn. He has been an instructor for the adult Pipestone Sheep Program for more than 20 years and has held multiple national leadership positions in the sheep industry.

He will talk about "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly of Contracts and Marketing Alliances" and "How Pipestone Producers have Improved Profits." This ICN program is sponsored by the Iowa Sheep and Wool Promotion Board and Iowa State University (ISU) Extension.

Advance registration is not required but there is a $5 fee per person. Many ICN locations have changed this year, so attendees need to contact their local ISU Extension county office for the closest participating ICN site location.
