3/13/02 Contacts: Hills Bank and Trust Company, 4-H Offer New Scholarship AMES, Iowa -- Students who live in or attend school in 10 southeast Iowa counties may apply for a new scholarship from the Iowa 4-H Foundation. The students need not be 4-H members to apply. The Hills Bank and Trust Company Leadership Grant is the newest of 70
scholarships offered each year by the Iowa 4-H Foundation. Twenty participants
will be selected for the annual program, which is sponsored by Hills Bank
and Trust Company. To be eligible, students must live in or attend school in one of the following Iowa counties: Benton, Cedar, Iowa, Johnson, Jones, Keokuk, Linn, Louisa, Muscatine or Washington. The applicants must have a grade point average of 2.8 or higher, and demonstrated leadership, entrepreneurship or other qualities related to community service. Applications are due May 1 to the Iowa 4-H Foundation, 32 Curtiss Hall, Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa 50011-1050. For more information, contact your local ISU county Extension office.
