7/18/02 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contacts: Learn About Adding Value to Iowa's Commodities AMES, Iowa - The "Farms, Food and the Future Conference" will be held at Iowa State University on Tuesday, July 30 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The theme is "Adding Value: Challenges and Opportunities." Anyone involved in adding value to Iowa's commodities is invited to attend. Steve Sonka, Ph.D., director, National Soybean Research Lab, and professor, Agriculture Management, University of Illinois is the keynote speaker. His presentation is titled "Consolidation in Agriculture - Concentrating on your products and focusing on your intangible assets." Attendees will be able to attend breakout sessions on a variety of topics ranging from financing, using marketing tools, business development and identifying resources to renewable fuels and biotechnology.
