2002 National 4-H Dairy Conference Delegates Named

AMES, Iowa -- Four Iowa 4-H'ers will represent the state at the 2002 National 4-H Dairy Conference in Madison, Wis., Sept. 29 - Oct. 2. Nearly 250 delegates from across the United States and Canada are expected to attend.

The Iowa representatives are James Bolin from Clarksville (Butler County); Elizabeth Wonderlich, Waterville (Allamakee County); Katie Hoffmann, Earlville, and Jessica Tekippe, Manchester, (both Delaware County).

Bolin, 16, is the son of Dave and Pam Bolin and a seven-year dairy project 4-H'er. He said he wants to meet people from around the nation, gain leadership experience and acquire more dairy knowledge at the conference.

Wonderlich, 16, is the daughter of Chris and Nancy Wonderlich and an eight-year 4-H'er. A National Honor Society member, she plans to learn more about the dairy industry and look into the field as a career. She also plans to apply her new knowledge to the family farm and to help other 4-H'ers with their dairy projects.

Hoffmann, 15, is the daughter of John and Linda Hoffman and a six-year 4-H'er. Hoffmann plans to learn new techniques at the dairy conference that she can bring back to share with others.

Tekippe, 15, is the daughter of Dan and Mary Tekippe and a six-year 4-H'er. She will look for advanced dairy practices and dairy promotion ideas that she can bring back to her community.

The National 4-H Dairy Conference trip for Iowa delegates is sponsored by the Ron Orth Dairy Endowment fund through the Iowa 4-H Foundation.
