Crawford County 4-H'er Named to State 4-H Council

AMES, Iowa -- Local 4-H'er Eddie Wadsworth, Dunlap, was elected to serve on the 2002-2003 State 4-H Council, a group of 40 teen leaders who serve as 4-H ambassadors. He will represent the Northwest Iowa area.

Wadsworth was inducted to the state council at the closing ceremonies of the 2002 Iowa State 4-H Youth Conference June 27. After participating in ambassador training in mid-July, he began serving as an ambassador within Crawford County, Northwest Iowa and at various statewide functions. Other responsibilities of State 4-H Council members include working at the Iowa State Fair, planning the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference and serving on the Iowa 4-H Foundation.

"This is a real opportunity for the new State 4-H Council members," said Stanley R. Johnson, Vice Provost for Extension. "They are already leaders. This participation on state council will build on the strengths and provide a unique experience for these future citizens of Iowa."
