Peter Magrath, president of the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges (NASULGC), will kickoff Iowa State University Extension's Annual Conference, Exploring Extension's New Environment, on Tuesday, Oct. 30. The keynote session is set for Howe Hall Auditorium from 9:15 to 10:45 a.m. ISU campus faculty, P&S staff and student leaders are welcome to attend the keynote session free of charge. Extension and other ISU faculty and P&S staff can register to participate in the complete conference. This year Extension's Annual Conference is an Iowa Communications Network (ICN) teleconference. In addition to those at the Ames site, ISU Extension staff also will participate at four other ICN locations throughout the state. "We're very pleased that President Geoffroy will present his vision and interpretation of ISU's Strategic Plan," said Stanley R. Johnson, vice provost for ISU Extension. "President Geoffroy also will share the 'ISU picture' for changing the university's organizational culture to meet the new environment facing higher education today." Magrath will discuss issues facing all land-grant colleges, Johnson said. Magrath will offer his insights about the "big picture" - how state universities and land-grants must change their organizational culture to meet this new environment. Both Geoffroy and Magrath will answer questions following their presentations. Registration and additional information is available from the Annual Conference Web site, http://www.extension.iastate.edu/emms/anconf. The final registration deadline is Oct. 19. -30- |
