Greenhouse and Ornamental Pesticide Applicator Continuing Instructional Course to be Held on Oct. 16

AMES, Iowa -- Ames is the site for the Tuesday Oct. 16, 2001, Greenhouse and Ornamental Applicators continuing instructional course (CIC) for commercial pesticide applicators. Topics to be covered include introduction to laws and regulations, personal protective equipment, poisoning symptoms, storage and handling of pesticides and pest management.

The course will be held in the Suffolk Room at the Comfort Suites from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., with registration opening at 1 p.m. The registration fee is $25 on or before Oct. 10 and $30 after Oct. 10. The 2001 CIC course will provide continuing instructional credit for commercial pesticide applicators certified in categories 3G, 3-O and 10.

This CIC is sponsored by Iowa State University Extension, ISU Department of Entomology and the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship.

Directions to Comfort Suites: From Interstate 35, take U.S. Highway 30 west into Ames. Take the Elwood Drive exit and go south one-quarter mile.
