AMES, Iowa -- Noted nature photographer Carl Kurtz will hold a public lecture on "Iowa's Wild Places" on Tuesday, March 13 at 7:30 p.m. on the Iowa State University campus.

Kurtz's work focusing on the prairie, the natural environment and animal life has been widely exhibited. Hundreds of his photographs have been published in 50 regional and national publications. He taught natural history photography at Iowa State University for 14 years and has given hundreds of lectures to students and civic groups over the past 30 years.

The lecture will be in Benton Auditorium in the Scheman Building in conjunction with the Shade Tree Short Course, according to Jeff Iles, ISU Extension horticulturist and a coordinator of the short course. The public lecture is provided at no cost. The public is encouraged to arrive early because seating will be limited.
