6/21/01 Contacts: Teams Invited to Participate in 4-H Livestock Quiz Bowl at State Fair AMES, Iowa -- Entries are being accepted for the new Iowa 4-H Livestock Quiz Bowl. The inaugural contest will be held Aug. 10 at the 4-H Exhibit Building on the Iowa State Fairgrounds. Teams of four youths between the ages of 12 and 18 will answer a series of questions about beef, swine and sheep production. "The competition will test youths' basic knowledge of production and management techniques," said Denise Schwab, 4-H youth development specialist. "The questions will relate to nutrition, health, physiology, disease and care." Team members do not need to be enrolled in a specific 4-H project to participate. Registration forms, along with a $15 team entry fee, are due in the state 4-H office by July 15. |
