6/19/01 Contacts: State 4-H Horse Judging Contest Winners Announced Cedar Rapids, Iowa -- The Wapello County Senior Horse Judging Team placed first in the annual 4-H Youth Horse Judging Contest, held June 12 at the Iowa Equestrian Center at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. The members of the Wapello County team will represent Iowa 4-H at the 2002 Denver Horse Classic in January. The 2001 results are: 1st Place Senior Judging Team: Wapello County (team members: Casey Payne, Amber Wiley, Laci Keith and Ashley Sample; coached by Heather Angle). The Wapello County team will participate in the Denver Horse Classic. 2nd Place Senior Judging Team: Madison County (team members: Klaire O'Rourke, Drew Harris, Jessica Brott, and Deanne Day; coached by Craig Nelson and Ernie Barnes.) 3rd Place Senior Judging Team: Wayne County (team members: Melissa Shields, Sierra Shriver, Kody Vogel, Josh Fry; coached by Orlin Thomas.) 4th Place Senior Judging Team: Delaware County (team members: Hannah Reth, Danielle Hunt, Cody Errthum, Chase Feldman; coached by Carmela Feldmann.) 5th place Senior Judging Team: Hamilton County (team members: Katie Lund, Melanie Wilson, Katie Carlson; coached by Virgene Monthei.)
