Track Field Activities in an ISU Extension Pocket Guide

AMES, Iowa -- A revised version of Iowa State University Extension publication ICM 1, Field Records for Integrated Crop Management, Restricted-use Pesticide Applications, and Manure Applications, is now available for recording detailed information on herbicide, insecticide, and manure applications.

This pocket-sized guide can be used by private pesticide applicators to record restricted-use pesticide applications on a field-by-field basis. Such pesticide information must be maintained for 2 years following an application. Producers who are required to keep manure application records as part of their manure management plans also will find this guide useful. These records must be kept for 3 years or the length of the crop rotation, if greater. A table of manure nutrient values that can be used in developing a manure management plan is provided.

The guide also contains phone numbers for regional Department of Natural Resources field offices and an emergency number for reporting chemical and manure spills.

Copies of ICM 1 are available free through local county extension offices or by calling the ISU Extension Distribution Center at (515) 294-5247. Orders also may be placed via the Web at www.extension.iastate.edu/pubs/Order.html.
