ICN Program to Feature Swine Niche Marketing Opportunities

AMES, Iowa -- Swine producers who are interested in learning more about existing niche marketing groups should plan to attend the Iowa Communications Network program, "Comparing Swine Niche Marketing Opportunities," Aug. 20. The program, sponsored by Iowa Pork Industry Center, Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Iowa Pork Producers Association, will provide information on several marketing options available to Iowa producers. The options include Confederated Swine Producers, Organic Valley Pork, Berkshire Gold and Niman Ranch. ISU Extension swine field specialist Mark Storlie is coordinating the program.

The program will run from 7:30-9 p.m. and originates from the Iowa State University campus.

Program fee is $10 per person. Check with local ISU Extension county offices for possible preregistration and prepayment requirements. The list of approved sites is as follows:
