7/28/00 Contacts: or municipal clerk listed at the end of this news release __(Name)__ Receives Advanced City Clerk Training __(Name)__, __(Town)__ completed the second session of a three-part curriculum at the Iowa Municipal Clerks Institute conducted by Iowa State University. The five-day program was conducted by ISU Extension July 17-21 in Ames. This year's session was part of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Institute and included a banquet attended by alumni of the program. Topics for the session included presentations on written communications, ethics for public officials and municipalities, introduction to the Internet and records management. The program included a tour of various public facilities in Ames and an explanation of the City of Ames recordkeeping system. Participants in session 2 will have the opportunity to attend the final session of the three-part curriculum in July 2001.
