7/27/00 Contact: Production Ag CD-ROM Available AMES, Iowa -- For answers to production agriculture questions, check out this resource. Thirteen land-grant universities have collaborated to produce "Put Knowledge to Work: Production Agriculture CD-ROM." This CD-ROM contains more than 2,700 publications on crop production, livestock, farm management, pest management and natural resource management that can be searched by words or phrases. The disk includes Adobe Acrobat Reader. It will run on Windows 95, 98 or NT with a 486 or Pentium computer, 16 MB of RAM, 8 MB hard disk space, and a CD-ROM drive. It also can be used with a Macintosh 68020-68040, 4 MB of application RAM or Power Macintosh, 5 MB of RAM, Apple System software 7.0 or later, 8 MB hard disk space, and a CD-ROM drive. Support is available by phone or e-mail. The CD costs $25 plus shipping and handling anywhere in Iowa and can be ordered from Extension Distribution Center, Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa 50011, (515) 294-5247. Ask for EDC 200.
