Manure Application Field Day AMES, Iowa -- A manure application field day is set for Tuesday, Aug. 8. "The field day will provide livestock producers the opportunity to see different liquid manure application systems in operation," said Angie Rieck-Hinz, extension program specialist. "In addition to the equipment and plot studies that feature swine and poultry, manure application will also be featured." Other topics covered include residue management, manure application laws and pseudorabies issues that may affect manure application equipment use. The field day will be held at the Agronomy and Agricultural Engineering Research Farm located six miles west of Ames on the south side of Highway 30. Registration begins at 1 p.m. with demonstrations scheduled to start at 1:30. Guests are asked to park at the main farm building. Shuttles will be available to transport visitors to the demonstration sites. eh |
