2/10/00 Contacts: Water Quality Conference 2000 AMES, Iowa -- Plan to attend the 2000 Water Quality Conference "Agriculture and the Environment: A Wake-Up Call for Iowans" on March 7-8. "The conference will address federal and state nonpoint source pollution policies that could potentially impact land management in agricultural watersheds," said Richard Larson, Iowa State University Extension program specialist. "Specific topics will focus on total maximum daily loads, nutrient criteria, animal feeding operations and source water protection." The conference will be held at the ISU Scheman Building in Ames, Iowa, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 7 and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 8.
